Felinfoel’s have been producing their beer in cans since 1935 which makes them the oldest canners of craft beer in the world.

The brewery, built in 1878 is situated in ‘Felinfoel’, a small village adjoining Llanelli in Wales.

What Felinfoel don’t know about brewing beer can be written on the same page as what Belt Transport doesn’t know about logistics.

After almost 10 years of working alongside each other in West Wales, in November 2017 Capt Beryn Lewis and Lyndon Belt joined forces where by Templeton Beer Wine & Spirt Co were appointed as Felinfoel Brewery Co’s Wholesale & Distribution partner for West Wales.

The last of the global brewers to leave West Wales and relocate along the M4 corridor. When comparing distribution budget to cost it was the obvious move to use Belt Transport as their ‘local’ delivery service.

Delivering up to 40 tonnes per day, Belt Transport became such an inclusive part of their business they used the sales strapline “Buy direct from Carlsberg & have your beer delivered by Templeton”.

Sadly as part of a global streamlining exercise Carlsberg were also the last major brewer to dispose of their in-house distribution and in November 2017 contracted their deliveries to Tradeteam.

When Dai & Glyn bottled their first pallets of water in 1991, Belt Transport was their first choice for distribution.

They had attended trade fairs across the UK and subsequently gained customers across London & the South East.

A couple of pallets of water destined for off-licenses & corner shops would be loaded by tractor & front-end loader at New House Farm, Princes Gate, the remainder of the trailer then filled with steel from Cardiff and deliver over the next couple of days.

Following the sale of Princes Gate to Nestle in 2018 as history repeats its self, today we store, pick & ship 50 pallets a week across the UK from our Templeton warehouse.

Originating from BRS via EXEL Logistics add a little Welsh Brewers & Deutsche Post and you arrive at DHL Tradeteam, the UK’s largest drink distributor to the licensed trade.

Delivering on a 3 day lead time on behalf of Molson Coors, InBev, SA Brains, Bibendum, Greene King, JD Wetherspoons and many more.

In the height of the holiday season and the town centre pedestrianisation that accompanies it, Belt Transport provides a same day delivery service to the far flung corners of West Wales.

Growing out of the Courage / Scottish & Newcastle brewery world KNDL distribute for Heineken, Britvic, Wadworth and many more.

Whilst the metropolis of Swansea seems like West Wales to most of the UK, the Matthew Clark distribution team know different.

Matthew Clark can trunk into our depot and re-assuringly leave the mountain climbing to us.
